Graduation Card ~ Wild Card

I made the following graduation card for my youngest cousin who just graduated high school in the top ten of her senior class!  Way to go Sarah!  Her school colors are black and gold.  I hope this card will be a nice keepsake for her.  The card consists of manual cuts and cuts using the Wild Card cartridge by Cricut.  The graduation cap image from Wild Card is actually intended to be used as a card on its own (it has a corresponding envelope to fit the irregular card shape) but I wanted to use it as an embellishment to a standard card so that I could layer other colors and would have more room for a printed sentiment inside.  For my version of the graduation card, I cut a 5 inch Scallop envelope which is also available on the Wild Card cartridge so that it could be mailed with ease (no extra shipping and handling costs due to an irregular shaped card).  The scallop envelope cut at 5 inches produces a standard 5X7 postal size which fits my card perfectly.  This is one of the main reasons I love my 12X24 Cricut mats!  This larger mat lets you create larger cards and envelopes.  I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the Graduation Card from the Wild Card cartridge.
