Wreath Christmas Card

Hi all – here is another card I made using Cricut’s Christmas Village. I cut the wreath image in green and red cardstock at 5 inches to fit a 5×7 card base. The only issue I have with the Christmas Village cartridge is that it doesn’t have a layer feature which would easily allow you to add different colors to your image. So I found a work around using Design Studio software. I cut a wreath out in red cardstock but prior to cutting, I hid the contour lines so the berries would not cut out. I then cut an unedited wreath in green cardstock which allowed the circles for the berries to cut. I paper pieced the green wreath portion to fit on top of the red wreath using scissors. This allowed the red bow and red berries to show through. I ran the wreath layers through a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder for texture and then used glossy accents on top of the “berries” to add shine and dimension. It’s hard to tell in the photo but the wreath is popped up with foam dimensionals. The green music sheet is from Paper Studio’s Ornamental Christmas Paper Pack.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thank you for the lovely feedback! I’m loving this Christmas paper so much too, especially the sheet music. It really makes the wreath pop against it. I’m really liking these simple cards where the focus is on one image. Happy holidays to you and yours! ~Vanessa
